Tampere is located at a distance of 173 kilometers northwest from Helsinki. Tampere is the third largest city in Finland. How to get to Tampere

By air
There are several daily flights to Finland from major cities in Europe. There are frequent daily flights between Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) and Tampere-Pirkkala Airport (TMP). The flight time is about 30 minutes. There are also direct flights from Stockholm to Tampere-Pirkkala Airport. Low fares airline Ryanair flies from Bremen, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Kaunas, London, Malaga, Milan, Oslo, Pisa and Riga to Tampere-Pirkkala airport.

The most easy way to get from the Tampere-Pirkkala airport to the city centre is by taxi. It takes about 20 minutes and it costs approx. 30 euros. Airport taxi from the airport to the city centre costs about 12 euros. There is also a bus connection between Tampere-Pirkkala airport and Tampere city centre during the daytime.

By bus
Traveling by an express bus is an easy way to get from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport or the Helsinki city centre to Tampere. By train
There are train connections between Helsinki and Tampere city centres. From the Helsinki-Vantaa airport you can easily take a bus to Helsinki or Tikkurila railway station and take a train from there.
